Shaurya Chakra

This is awarded for gallantry other than in the face of the enemy. This award may be granted to civilians or to military personnel and may be awarded posthumously. शौर्य चक्र यह शौर्यता पुरस्‍कार दुश्‍मन का सामना करने से अलग परिस्थिति में दिया जाता है। यह पुरस्‍कार नागरिकों अथवा सेना कर्मियों को दिया जा सकता है तथा यह मृत्‍यु उपरान्‍त भी दिया जा सकता है।
