Police Constables are individuals who are empowered to protect the law and order of a country. Their job prospects includes enforcing law and in safeguarding the life and property of the society. Police constables’ powers are limited within a state.
Eligibility: Aspirants who have passed the XII exam from a certified Board can apply for the police constable test.
- Age limit: Applicants should be aged 18 years and above, but should not exceed 22 years.
- Physical standards: Candidates should qualify some physical set of standards. Individuals need to have a minimum 167 cms height. They also require 81 cms chest with a maximum increase of 5 cms. Aspirants should also have clear eyesight without glasses.
Selection Process: In order to turn out to be a Police Constable, individuals are required to clear out a competitive exam. Public Service Commission conducts the Police Constables exam in each state for the recruitment of Police Constables within the state, India Reserve Battalion – Commando Wing or otherwise. PSC carries out the test in accordance with the vacancies incurring in the Law enforcement of each state. Those who clear the written test and the personal interview thereafter can become Police constables. Once, they clear all these formalities, they have to undergo a strict training program. On completion of the training only, they can join the Police service.
