Bodyboarding
Bodyboarding, which is sometimes called Boogieboarding, is a type of water sport. It is placed on the surface of the water. In this sport, the surfer rides a bodyboard on the crest, face, and curl of wave which will carry the surfer to the shore.
A standard bodyboard is made up of a short and rectangular piece of hydronamic foam. The surfers sometimes use swim fins to control the bodyboard while riding a wave. Some of the bodyboard riding forms include: prone, dropknee, and stand-up. In prone, the surfer rides the wave on his/her stomach. In dropknee, the surfer will place his/her preferred fun forward, and the other knee is at the bottom of the board.
In Stand-up, the surfer will just stand up and perform tricks. There is a Bodyboarding World Championship held every year, the International Bodyboarding Association (IBA) organizes it. The 2014 world championship was held in France and Amaury Lavernhe was declared champion.
